Extracorporeal Life Support Organization Registry International Report 2016, summarizing current information on outcomes for children and adults requiring ECMO support, using data reported to the registry, it the top cited ASAIO journal paper in 2017. ELSO periodically publishes a summary of data to help improve knowledge of outcomes and adverse events. Since the last published report in 2012, ExtraCorporeal Life Support application and centers providing/reporting ECLS have increased worldwide. Extracorporeal Life Support Organization registry provide accurate representation of these and represents an important and valuable source of data that will continue to impact the use of ExtraCorporeal Life Support.
